ISLAMIC, Greater Tabaristan. Anonymous, 780-793. (Silver, 37.00 g), AFZUT type, PYE 134 = AH 169 = AD 785/6. A lot of Seventeen (17) AFZUT type hemidrachms from Tabaristan, all dated PYE 134 = AH 169 = AD 785/6, with a crowned Sasanian-style bust right, "Afzut" instead of ruler name before on the obverse and a fire altar with attendants flanking; star and crescent flanking flames, date to left, mint to right; triple circle border with alternating star-in-crescent and triple pellet motifs on the reverse. Extremely fine. Sold as is, no returns (17).
