Australia ND (1918) P-5c PMG Very Fine 25 5 Pounds
Cerutty - Collins signature combination. A high denomination type from Australia, seen here in pleasing problem-free condition. Mid-range prefix U-E. Strong eye-appeal is noted, and the note is free of writing, stains or other problems. This is the second iteration of this design, which introduced a mosaic overprint on the back as a deterrent against counterfeiting. As there are only an extremely limited number of notes known of the first issue, this can be considered the earliest 5 Pound type most collectors of Australian banknotes can reasonably hope to acquire. As such, an important opportunity for the Australian specialist, not to be missed.
