Cameroun / French Mandate Post WWI ND (1922) P-4 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 50 Centimes

The German colony of Kamerun became the French protectorate of Cameroun after the conclusion of World War I, when Germany was stripped of all of its colonies. As part of the transition from German to French in the country, a hastily prepared pair of banknotes was issued in 1922, of which this is the initial denomination (the other was a 1 Franc with a similar design). These are the only two notes issued by the Territory of Cameroun as a French mandate, and both are very scarce in better grades. This is a lightly circulated yet problem-free example of the 50 Centimes, with strong color and good eye-appeal for the technical grade.
