French West Africa 22.12.1950 P-43 PMG Choice UNC 64 5000 Francs
A large format type from French West Africa that is seen here in pleasing choice uncirculated condition. A classic design is seen, with a subtle but all-to-clear message of the superiority of the French colonizers, with the representation of that country clearly placed in the middle of the design just a little bit above the African figures. This was a high denomination that has never been available in quantity, and it remains one of those essential African colonial types that belong in every serious collection.
