Guadeloupe ND (1942) P-24b PMG Very Good 10 500 Francs

Despite having spent considerable time in circulation the overall appearance of this scarce type remains good for the technical grade. It is not often encountered in issued form in any grade, and surely is on the wish list of many collectors. Printed by E.A. Wright in Philadelphia at a type when the colony was unable to acquire notes from French printers as a result of World War II. These notes fulfilled an important economic need in the South-American colony at the time, but after the War they were quickly withdrawn and are now very scarce, especially the high denominations such as this 500 Francs. PMG mentions "Rust; paper pulls".

PMG Population in 10: 1 (2 Finer)
