China, Qing, Mu Zong / Tong Zhi (1862-1874), ? ? Qi Xiang, round cash, square hole, 35 mm, 16.95g (Hua Guangpu p. 1740). Very Fine. Reverse of this piece contains the first reign title of Tong Zhi. Very few coins minted with this reign title were produced and none were officially put into circulation. A few escaped the melting ordered by Dowager Empress Ci Xi when the reign period changed.
