One British pound at the time was worth 240 pence, with 1 Rupee worth 16 pence (the 'd' on the card). Note that it took 1 anna (the center silver coin at the very bottom) to mail this card to Europe, and a half-anna (the large copper coin with Queen Victoria on it center right) to send it within India and Burma
