Samuel Phillips Eady was a quack doctor, particularly infamous for promoting his treatment of syphilis. See an advertisement preserved in the Wellcome Collection which advertised a remedy for "those who are unhappily afflicted with diseases of the generative system". See also the satirical print by George Cruikshank titled 'The commercial dandy & his sleeping partners' (1821: BM 1865,1111.2115) where Dr Eady is associated with Mrs Wood, a brothel-owner.
