Poland, Warsaw. Chopin Æ Medal. Based on medal by Wacław Szymanowski minted in Paris, circa 1926. F. CHOPIN, 1809-1849, bust of Chopin facing, head turned dramatically to right (a close of up the statue on reverse) / Statue of Chopin on tree as in Royal Łazienki Park. Cf. Strzałkowski 556. 54.67g, 50mm, 2h.
Extremely Fine.

This coin is an exact replica of the medal designed by Szymanowski to accompany his larger monument built in Warsaw in 1926. The lack of signature on the obverse however shows this example as a replica rather than one of the 1,000 bronze pieces minted in Paris..
