NGC graded MS 62 (#6670903-013). Correction to NGC description (not commemorative of Gustav IV Adolphe's death).

From the inventory of a UK dealer.

This medal commemorates Henrik Wrede who was killed in the battle of Kirkholm (1605) during the Second Polish War after giving his horse to King Charles IX whose own horse had been shot down. In thanks for Wrede's sacrifice, the king donated land to his widow and sons who also became barons.
