2012 London Olympics Gold Series Complete Collection
A set of nine coins commemorating the London 2012 Olympic Games comprising three groups, each consisting of one £100 coin and two £25 coins. The groups are: 2010 Faster 'CITIUS' Neptune (1oz), Diana (1/4oz) and Mercury (1/4oz); 2011 Higher 'ALTIUS' Jupiter (1oz), Apollo (1/4oz) and Juno (1/4oz); 2012 Stronger 'FORTIUS' Mars (1oz), Vulcan (1/4oz) and Minerva (1/4oz). The obverses of all the coins in the set feature the classic portrait of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. The reverse of the coins were designed by John Bergdahl, each featuring one of the gods named above, watching over an Olympic sport. Certificate No. 507, but only 477 sets were issued out of a possible 1,000. S.LOGS8 (9)
