BAVARIA: AR medalete, 1913, Kienast-19, 22mm silver medalete by Karl Goetz, for the Unveiling of the Prince Regent Luitpold Monument in Munich; bust of Luitpold right // Z.E.A.D. / DENKMALS / ENTHÜLLUNG / IN MÜNCHEN / 28 SPT 1913 in Latinized script, Bavarian shield and crested helmet below, loop attached as made, a lovely lustrous prooflike example!l, Unc. Luitpold served as the de facto ruler of Bavaria on account of the incapacity of his nephews, first Ludwig II and then Otto, acting as regent in their place. He died in December 1912, with this monument being established in his memory the following September.
