SASANIAN IMITATION: LOT of 2 silver drachms, in the name of Khusro II, one bearing the mint name AW (Ahwaz) and year 35 (4.10g), the other with mint name ART (Ardashir Khurra) and year 33 (4.08g), but struck with the same obverse die, both in EF-AU, lot of 2 pieces. The combination of different mint names and dates with the same obverse die proves that they must have been struck elsewhere, and likely after the death of Khusro in 628. This phenomenon has been observed for several different such combinations of two different mint names and different dates with the same obverse die.
