UMAYYAD: Junayd (b. 'Abd al-Rahman), ca. 730-735, AE fals (1.74g), NM, ND, A-205T, cf. Zeno-291946, Bactrian monogram or tamgha in center, name around, al-amir al-junayd ... possibly followed by his father's name // two Bactrian letters in center, uncertain Bactrian legend in the margin (apparently with a few Arabic letters), unpublished, somewhat crude Fine. Likely from eastern Khorasan or Tokharistan. Third known example (first two appeared in our Auction 44, Lots 197-198).
