The Pfinzing brothers formed part of the patrician elite of the imperial city of Nuremberg during the fifteenth century. They were well-known for being diversely gifted, not only excelling in subjects which were known as the seven liberal arts, but also in theology, academic administration and numismatics. Furthermore, all the brothers traded in textiles and spices, owning a wide-ranging network with trading posts in Augsburg, Breslau, Leipzig, Regensburg, and even Venice. Being venerated for their immeasurable talent, the brothers became the subject of various medals throughout the fifteenth and sixteenth century.Pewter 43 mm. 28.27 g. Almost extremely fine
