Helena (mother of Constantine I) BI Nummus. Possible contemporary imitation of the Lugdunum mint(?), after AD 324-325. FL HELENA AVGVSTA, diademed and draped bust to right / SECVRITAS REIPVBLICE, Securitas standing facing, head to left, holding branch and raising hem of robe; PLG in exergue. Cf. RIC VII 234. 2.60g, 19mm, 11h.

Extremely Fine.

From the collection of a Romanophile;
Ex Roma Numismatics Ltd., E-Sale 82, 15 April 2021, lot 1659.

The slightly unusual style of this piece, especially evidenced by the pose that Securitas has adopted on the reverse, might suggest that it is a contemporary imitation.
