1902 Proof Five Sovereigns, Edward VII, 1901-1910. S-3965, W&R 404, L&S 1. (N) 39.73g. High rims - the Royal Mint must have experimented with the matte five sovereign dies to improve their strike behaviour and quality. This resulted in variations in the height of the rims on these coins. Reverse - Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the Dragon small B.P. in relief below right of exergue, which contains the date. Well struck and unmarked and not rubbed, thus FDC.
