Thrace, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.74 g), obv. large head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin over left arm, to right HRAKLEOUS, to left SWTHRO[S], below [F]ASIWN, MH monogram to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1040-1045). Lightly toned, very fine.
