Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 207, (3.17 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XV COS III P P, Victory standing right, foot on helmet, inscribing shield set on palm-tree, (S.6340, RIC 211, RSC 489). Lightly toned, nearly extremey fine.

Ex A.K. Collection, Triton XX (lot 512 part) reference No. CO87 with descriptive ticket. Struck to commemorate the victories over the native tribes in North Africa in A.D. 207.
