Group of Six: The Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George, Knight Commander (K.C.M.G.) breast badge in gold, silver and enamel; Afghanistan Medal 1878-80; Turkey, Ottoman Empire, Order of Medjidie, First Class breast star, in case (this damaged) with shoulder ribbon; Turkey, Order of Osmanieh, Second Class neck badge and breast star, in case of issue; French Egyptian Institute (Institut d'Egypte) Medal in silver with silver embroidered star on ribbon. Lieut R.H.Brown. R E. on second medal, all other items unnamed. The named medal engraved. Most items toned, the ribbon on second medal damaged, otherwise very fine.

Ex Dr John M. Bennett AM Collection. Major Sir R.H.Brown, K.C.M.G., was Inspector General of Irrigation for Lower Egypt. Some of his works include History of the Barrage at the head of the Delta of Egypt (1896) and The Delta Barrage of Lower Egypt (1902).

Major Sir Robert Hanbury Brown had a distinguished career. He joined the Royal Engineers in 1870, served in India 1872, the Afghan War 1879-80, was mentioned in despatches, and Egypt 1884-1903. His Turkish awards were made in recognition of services to that country.
