Trooper Harry Corrick was the first soldier to return to the town of Warren in NSW from the Dardenelles on Friday 24 September 1915. He was incapacitated by wounds received in the war. Business was suspended for an hour and three hundred people assembled at the railway station and gave him a whole-hearted welcome. In February 1916 he was appointed recruiting sergeant to work under the direction of the Warren War Service Committee.
