(Brother 1): Robert Donald McBeath, telegraphist, age 23, born at Rosewater, Sth Aust; Enl.04Aug1915 at Adelaide, Sth Aust in 12RFTS for 10Bn, with previous service in Cadets in Adelaide; Emb.02Dec1915; to France 29Mar1916; TOS 10Bn 12Jun1916; KIA 23Aug1916, at Pozieres, Somme Sector, France, shot by a sniper while acting as a stretcher-bearer carrying wounded officers; commemorated at Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France, at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, ACT and also at the Kingston and District Memorial in South Australia.
