QX8979 W.Jones on all medals. First five medals impressed in 1970's style, the last two pantograph engraved. The first five medals swing mounted, the last two loose, very fine - nearly uncirculated.

Together with case for last medal with miniature and riband; case for second last medal with spare ribbon and loose Japan clasp; Brisbane City Council Transport Department Returned Prisoner of War Pass 25.10.45 - 24.4.46; letter from Australia on Red Cross supplied letter envelope addressed to Lance Corporal W.Jones at Osaka P.O.W. Camp; photo of POWs in camp together with handwritten notes re A-bombs dropped on Japan.

Lance Corporal William 'Bill' Jones, letter press machinist, age 20, born 09Dec1919 at Brisbane, Queensland; Enl.11Jun1940 at Brisbane, Qld; TOS 8 Div Sigs 07Jan1941; Emb.02Feb1941; to L/Cpl 06Feb1942; MIA 16Feb1942 in Malaya and then reported POW interred at POW camp, Osaka, Japan; recovered from Japanese 24Sep1945; RTA and Disemb.13Oct1945 at Sydney, NSW; Disch.03Dec1945 as L/Cpl ex 8 Corps of Signals.
