S. and G. C. pieces nearly extremely fine and lustrous, the rest nearly fine to good very fine, of varying farthing to penny size, mostly rare (12)
Farthing described the 1717-dated M. S. piece thus: 'This token may have connections with the Salkeld family'; its style, however, suggests its date of manufacture is about 100 years later than indicated. The G. C. piece was listed by Farthing under the heading 'Miscellaneous, associated with Cumbrian mining'. The iron piece with crossed hammers may be of continental origin.
Items from the Francis Cokayne Collection. All pieces are offered with Cokayne's coin tickets. Some of these give previous owner details, including Fletcher (mostly acquired in 1933), Yeates (1923), and 'the A.H. Baldwin private ticket collection'.

Estimate: 100 - 150 GBP
