Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Kingdom of Kandy native coinage, 'Fish Hook' Larins or koku ridi (20) c.17-19th century, pseudo-Persian legends stamped on outer edge, fine to very fine (20)
The Silver "Fish Hook" Larins in the lots 404 - 411 would seem to be from a late 19th Century or perhaps early 20th Century hoard. Some coins have traces of encrustation and Verdigris but it is only in the later lots where this is serious and described. The coins are to be found described in Michael Mitchener's, World of Islam, published in London in 1977 (nos. 2326-31).
Estimate: 350 - 450 GBP
