Germany, Prussia, Frederick II, the Great (1712-1740-1786), the Battles of Rossbach and Lissa, 1757, Commemorative Tobacco Box, by Johann Heinrich Giese (1716-1761), of Iserlohn (Westfalia), with medallic images; oblong oval copper box with brass lid and base, on lid: busts of Frederick and his brother, Prince Henry to either end, in centre, the Battle of Rossbach, 5 November 1757, on base: the Battle of Lissa [Leuthen], 5 December 1757, with Victory, fames and military trophies to either side, 46mm. x 160mm. x 35mm., in excellent order, the base somewhat rubbed

In both vignettes Frederick is shown on the lid leading his troops against the joint Franco-Austrian army; the Austrians are alone on the base.
