Australia, Agricultural Society of New South Wales, "Practice with Science", large bronze medal, awarded 1870, by Hardy Brothers London & Sydney, Flora stands on plinth with cherubic helpers and two sheep, rev. the details engraved where appropriate, "Awarded to C. F. Creswell, Class 291, No. 1235 - 1870", 89.5mm., very fine
C. F. Creswell of Melbourne, was a nurseryman and pioneer of the mail order seed catalogue: "VEGETABLE, GARDEN, AND FARM SEEDS ALWAYS ON HAND, IN LARGE AND SPLENDID VARIETIES FROM BEST STOCKS. Catalogue of Bulbous and Flowering Roots issued annually, and posted free throughout the Colony". He seems to have been a regular exhibitor at Australian agricultural shows.
