(Collignon - ; BDM I, 130; CGMP 2, 146-C), struck c. 1845-1860, extremely rare, light tone on obverse, nearly black on reverse, certified and graded by PCGS as Specimen 62
A small though important group of French medals in silver. The medals in the lots 676 – 683 have been certified and graded by PCGS who have have marked each item as "Main Ag" which the cataloguers can only assume refers to the poinçon on the edge of each, a Hand and the word ARGENT, the mark for the period 1845-1860. The slabbing process means that the cataloguers have been unable to see the edges and have not been able to get an exact measurement or weight. Large silver medals of this period are all extremely rare and this is a very good group.

Estimate: 500 - 800 GBP
