ITALY, Milano (seignory). Barnabò Visconti. 1349-1385. AR Grosso da 2 soldi (24mm, 2.57 g, 8h). Rosette and star issue. Struck circa 1356-mid 1360s. Coiled serpent left, consuming man, flanked by B and G; above, eagle flanked by triple annulets; all within quadrilobe with rosettes in spandrels / St. Ambrose enthroned facing, holding scourge and crozier. MIR 102/1; Crippa 2/A; cf. MEC 12, 618-620A (for type). Toned, areas of weak strike, edge split. Near VF.
