Excellent details, attractive golden tone, holed and exceptionally rare according to Montenegro (R5). The last example offered in public auction was in fine condition and over eight years ago (hammer 5,550EUR).
According to Paolucci, the gold Oselle were struck from the same dies as their silver counterparts on the purest gold. It is believed that they were struck for private individuals such as nobility and intended more for show; the reason why most known examples are pierced or mounted.
