Æthelred II (978-1016), 'First Hand' Type, Penny, York, Farmann, + ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGL, commencing at 1 o'clock, diademed and draped bust right, rev. + FAREMAN M'O EOFE, Hand of Providence issuing from clouds, dividing Alpha and Omega, 1.29g, 3h (Carlyon-Britton [1916], 1063c; North 766; Spink 1144), heavily pecked and crimped, otherwise darker tone, struck details largely fine, the only example traced by this cataloguer.
