Æthelred II (978-1016), 'Long Cross' Type, Penny, 997-1003, London, Leofric, + ÆÐELRÆD REX ANGLO, draped bust left, rev. + LEOFRIC M'O LVND, voided long cross, angles plain, 1.37g, 7h (North 774; Spink 1151), chipped at 12 and 4 o'clock, surfaces porous and lightly creased, yet the portrait clear, almost very fine.
