Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), 'Facing Bust / Small Cross' Type, Penny, 1062-1065, Nottingham, Forni, + EADPARD RE[X], crowned and draped facing bust, rev. + FORNA ON SNO, small cross pattée, 0.85g, 12h (SCBI 17, 472; North 830; BMC XIII; Spink 1183), unfortunately chipped, otherwise of good fabric, lightly toned, a pleasingly bold very fine, a rare type for this moneyer with only one other recorded on EMC.
