Stephen (1135-1154), Midland Group, 'Lozenge and Fleury', Penny, struck c. 1135-1145, Lincoln, Godric, + STIEFNE : [REX] (starting at 8 o'clock), crowned and draped bust facing, rev. + GODRIC : ON [: LINC], fleur-tipped voided quadrilateral, mullet at centre, annulet in angles, 1.13g, 8h (North 897; Spink 1301), minor flan chips, otherwise struck on an irregular rectangular flan, typically soft for strike with mottled 'field' tone, a bolder fine for issue, rare.
