Richard I 'the Lionheart' (1189-1199), Shortcross Penny, c. 1194-1199, Class IVa, Winchester, Willelm, crude crowned bust facing, rev. + WILLELM ON WIN, voided short cross, cross pommée in angles, 1.47g, 11h (SCBI Mass 987-988; North 968/1; Spink 1348A), richly toned but with usual striking irregularities and softness, scarcely fine, but a popular monarch to collect.
