Scotland, James VI (1567-1625), Eighth Coinage, Thistle-Merk, 1602, Edinburgh, crowned arms with Rampant Scottish Lion, rev. crowned thistle, 6.49g, 4h (Spink 5497), flan split at 12 o'clock, otherwise lightly toned, slightly clipped but about very fine, an unusual soil find from middle England.
