Charles II (1660-1685), 'Elephant' Crown, 1666 XVIII, second laureate and draped bust right, elephant below, rev. extra stop in RE•X, crowned cruciform shields, interlinked C's in angles, six strings to harp, edge lettered upwards, 29.35g, 6h (ESC 34; Bull 369 [R2]; Spink 3356), quite flat and lightly bagmarked, nevertheless with a uniform tone, strictly fine, yet an exceedingly popular 'Great Fire of London' issue, the legend variety very rare.
