William III (1694-1702), Great Recoinage, 'Norwich' Shilling, 1697, first laureate and draped bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, four strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 6.10g, 6h (ESC 1099; Bull 1185; Spink 3501), heavily cleaned and with flan adjustment marks to the hair and French shield, yet with hints of toning to recesses, very fine; another, Sixpence, 1696, first laureate and draped bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, large crowns, three strings to early harp, edge obliquely milled, 3.03g, 6h (ESC 1533; Bull 1202; Spink 3520), large A in FRA, the serif to the second 6 in date weekly struck, lightly contact marked, otherwise about very fine (2).
