George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, second laureate and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, SS C in alternating angles, six strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.96g, 6h (ESC 1180; Bull 1592 [R2]; Spink 3648), rubbed and with a die flaw running through reverse field at 1 o'clock, otherwise toned, very fine, rare; additionally, George II (1727-1760), 'Roses' Shilling, 1741, young laureate and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, seven strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.97g, 6h (ESC 1202; Bull 1717; Spink 3701), haymarked, yet with a handsome tone, very fine (2).
