George II (1727-1760), 'Old Head' Shilling, 1750, old laureate and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 5.99g, 5h (ESC 1210; Bull 1729; Spink 3704), some softness to the hair, otherwise pleasingly lustrous to darkly cabinet toned surfaces, extremely fine; another, 'Old Head' Sixpence, 1757, old laureate and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, six strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 2.97g, 6h (ESC 1622; Bull 1762; Spink 3711), die flaw to R in GRATIA, nevertheless richly toned to legends, very fine (2).
