George III (1760-1820), 'Northumberland' Shilling, 1763, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, angles plain, eight strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 6.03g, 6h (ESC 1214; Bull 2124; Spink 3742), darker cabinet toned surfaces, a handsome extremely fine, notoriously scarce and ever sought after.
