Victoria (1837-1901), 'Gothic' Florin, MDCCCLII [1852], Type B¹, Gothic bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblems in angles, edge milled, 11.37g [175.8grns], 6h (ESC 806; Bull 2820; Spink 3891), the deftest bagmarks, otherwise a delightful example of the first Gothic Florin, the reverse with most pleasing playful cartwheel lustre, the obverse reminiscently pearlescent from much surviving mint bloom, near uncirculated, scarce in this wholesome 'mint fresh' grade.
Estimate: £240 - £300
