(x) The Leja Park Collection | Æthelred II (978-1016), 'Long Cross' Type, Penny, 997-1003, Southampton, Spilemann/Spilmann, draped bust left, rev. + SPILEMAN M'O H[A]M, voided long cross, pellet at centre, 1.50g, 7h (SCBI 51 [Estonia], 277; BEH 1273; FEJ 748; North 774; Spink 1151), lightly crimped and heavily pecked to the reverse, one cleaned, extensively and competently repaired and artificially retoned, with spots of verdigris and older cabinet tone, struck details bolder than very fine, very rare.
