Johann Kemény, 1661 – 1662
10 Ducats 1661, Klausenburg (Kolozsvár, Cluj-Napoca), F 416 (234), Resch 1, Huszár 607, Montenuovo 1027, 34.48 g, minor edge nick - very attractive and excessively rare one year type.

When serving as the leader of Georg II Rákóczi's military campaigns, Johann (János, John) Kemény was seized by the Tartars and taken to the Crimea. During his imprisonment there he compiled the first memoir ever written in Hungarian. Although Kemény only occupied the throne for little more than a year, his masterful autobiography has secured him a very prominent place in the history of Transylvania.
