Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Andronicus III. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (27mm, 3.97 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck 1325-1328 or later. Half-length figure of the Virgin Mary, orans, within city walls with four towers; lis and A flanking Virgin, pellet to left of uppermost castle / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II and Andronicus III kneeling to either side. DOC 494-7; PCPC 185.4; SB 2461. VF, a couple of flan splits and a hairline flan crack.
