George III (1760-1820), 'Spade' Guinea, 1791, 'Large 9', fifth laureate head right, rev. crowned 'spade' shield, edge chevron milled, 8.35g [129.0grns], 11h (MCE 395; Farey 1300; EGC 719; Spink 3729), an unusually broad striking with full peripheral details to reverse, old 'dirty' cabinet felt toning, almost very fine, a noteworthy example.
