Constantius I, as Caesar (AD 305-306). AV aureus (17mm, 5.33 gm, 6h). NGC Choice XF★ 5/5 - 4/5. Trier, ca. AD 295-305. CONSTAN-TIVS NOB C, laureate head of Constantius I right / HERCVLI CONSER-AVGG ET CAESS NN, Hercules, nude, standing facing, head left, leaning on grounded reversed club with right hand, bow in left hand, lion skin draped over left forearm, quiver strapped across chest behind right shoulder; TR in exergue. Calicó 4836 (same dies). RIC VI 45. A fiery patina with gradients of burgundy, terracotta, and honey. Superbly sharp with gorgeous flashes of subtle violet when rotated in hand.
