Struck for the inauguration of Yuan Shih-kai as Emperor Hung-hsien. An iconic emission from the Republican era struck in celebration of Yuan Shih-kai's ill-fated ascension to emperor. While enveloped in spots of verdigris and displaying light evidence of a previous mount, the piece maintains the majority of its near-Mint State allure.
