Central American Republic gold 8 Escudos 1837 CR-E AU Details (Graffiti) PCGS, San Jose mint, KM17, Fr-1. Mintage: 2,029. One of incredibly few of this final year of issue to come to market in recent decades, the last of which we handled in 2016 as part of the Pura Vida Collection. While marred by a small "+" to the reverse "8," this ultimately does little to distract the eye from the all-encompassing apricot, magenta, and mulberry hues. A stunning display of aesthetic qualities is enhanced by abundant residual luster rotating across the sun's rays, host to nearly imperceptible traces of handling. As the most sought-after in this fleeting series, this opportunity is not to be missed.
