Charles II gold 2 Guineas 1682 AU53 NGC, KM443.1, S-3335. An elusive date from this ever-popular denomination and only the second instance we've handled such a piece, the first being another AU53 in 2020. A perfect assignment for this gently handled specimen, which was likely plucked from circulation not long after its production and placed in a discerning cabinet where it developed a most pleasing amber and apricot hue.
